Especialista en control biológico e integrado de plagas del Centro de Protección Vegetal y Biotecnología del Instituto Valenciano de Investigaciones Agrarias (IVIA). Ingeniero Técnico Agrícola por la UPV, Ingeniero Agrónomo por la Universidad de Lérida, y Doctor Ingeniero Agrónomo por la UPV en el 2000. Su tesis doctoral se centró en control biológico de conservación en el cultivo de los cítricos. Tras su doctorado estuvo trabajando en Koppert Biological Systems, empresa líder en control biológico y polinización, primero como investigador y posteriormente como Director del departamento de Investigación y Desarrollo. Durante esta etapa su investigación se centró principalmente en la implementación de programas de control biológico inoculativo en cultivos hortícolas de invernaderos. Se incorporó como investigador al IVIA en 2003 donde su trabajo de extensión y actividades de investigación incluyen (1) gestión integrada de plagas (IPM) en cítricos (http://gipcitricos.ivia.es/), donde su objetivo es trasladar el control de las plagas clave de este cultivo hacia técnicas basadas en el control biológico, con el fin de reducir el uso de plaguicidas y (2) control biológico en cultivos hortícolas, especialmente en plagas exóticas. En ambos campos, ha trabajado con plagas como ácaros, trips, lepidópteros, cochinillas, moscas blancas, minadores, taladros, mosca de la fruta y sus enemigos naturales asociados.
